Dr. patrick russell, ph.d.

Patrick J. Russell, Ph.D. is the Chief Academic Officer (Provost/Dean), Vice President for Intellectual Formation, and Professor of Scripture Studies at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology. Dr. Russell received his Ph.D. in Scripture Studies from Marquette University in 1996.  Prior to taking up his academic post at Sacred Heart, he was an Adult and Family Minister for six years at St. Dominic’s parish in Brookfield, Wisconsin.  He also formerly taught theology at the high school level at Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota (1984-1986) and Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha, NE (1982-1984). member of the Ignatian Associates (a lay Catholic ecclesial community), he and his wife Stephanie have four adult sons (David, Ryan, Micah, and Ian), all four of whom are married, and one granddaughter.

deacon steven kramer

Deacon Steve Kramer was ordained in 1994 for the diocese of Rockville Centre, New York.  He holds an M.A in Theology from Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington, New York and a D.Min. in Preaching and Communication from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.  Deacon Steve is the Director of Homiletics and Associate Professor of Pastoral Studies at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, and also teaches in the Permanent Diaconate Formation program of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.  Deacon Steve and his wife Geri have been married for forty-two years.  They have four grown children and one grandchild all who now live in Southeastern Wisconsin.

rev. Dr. vien V. Nguyen, SCJ

Dr. Vien is a member of the Priests of the Sacred Heart and an assistant professor of Sacred Scripture at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology. He has been an ordained priest for 15 years, serving as a parish priest and religious life formation director before arriving at SHSST in 2018. Dr. Vien earned an M. Div from Catholic Theological Union, and a Th. M., licentiate and doctorate degrees in Sacred Scripture from Santa Clara University.

Dr. Abraham Fisher, Ph.D.

Dr. Fisher holds an M.A. in Systematic Theology (Scripture Minor) from St. John’s University School of Theology in Collegeville, MN, and a Ph. D. in Systematic Theology from Marquette University (Ecclesiology focus). He teaches systematic and moral theology at Marquette, Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, and in the Permanent Diaconate Formation program of the Milwaukee Archdiocese. He lives with his wife and three sons in Brookfield, WI.

Dr. Rebecca k. murray, ph.d.

Dr. Murray is the Associate Dean of Social and Applied Sciences for the Creighton College of Arts and Sciences.  She received her Ph.D. In Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska in 2005 and began at Creighton that same year.  She teaches both sociology and criminology for the Department of Cultural and Social Studies, where she served as chair from 2012-2016.   Dr. Murray has authored/co-authored 3 books and over a dozen articles, primarily on the impact of crime in urban environments, but her first authorship (with Charles Harper, Ph.D.) examined organizational culture in two Catholic dioceses.  She is also deeply involved in Ignatian Spirituality, serving as Conservi for the Omaha community of Ignatian Associates, and leading the College Mission Catalysts at Creighton.  She lives in Omaha with her husband Tom, who chairs the Theology department at Creighton Prep High school, and their three children.
